Strolling in Southwark

We went to London on Saturday. The main purpose was to visit the public house; 'George Inn' in Southwark. It is London's last remaining galleried coaching inn dating from the 17th century, and now owned and leased by the National Trust.

London Liverpool Street Station

We walked through a passageway of Old Guy's House, Guy's hospital. I found the wildflowers were beautifully blooming in in the courtyard.

We were supposed to have a coffee on the upper floor of the shard, but it was busy. Instead we had a coffee in Shangri-La Hotel on the ground floor.

I ordered yuzu cheese cake. Yuzu is a citrus fruit and a common for cooking in my county, so it reminded me of Japan:)

Also we found a spooky museum "The Old Operating Theatre Museum and Herb Garret".

When St Thomas's Church was rebuilt here in 1703 it had an unusually large Garret in the roof space. And in 1822 part of the herb garret was converted into a operating theatre. It was blocked up and hidden for almost 100 years, the operating theatre was rediscovered in 1956. It opened as a museum after complete restoration in 1962.

Actually it was interesting and good, because it was a new discovery for us. Also it is set in an interesting space, and inside atmosphere isn't what it looks like from outside the building.

Around Southwark Cathedral was busy with a lot of people.

We crossed the Millennium Bridge towards St. Paul's Cathedral, and went to our favourite Postman's Park.

There is the Memorial to Heroic Self Sacrifice. Each tile tells a story of brave act.
I enjoyed strolling very much. This is one of my favourite routes for strolling.
