Osusowake
I received 'osusowake' from friends yesterday. 'Osusowake' means sharing a portion of something/the profit with others. It's a sort of a small gift. They gave me fresh beans and a cucumber from their gardens:)
'Suso' means the bottom hem of Kimono, and 'Wake' means to divide. The bottom hem indicates a little something not all that much, because of its edge. I think it came from Japanese expression of humbleness and modesty. We sometimes describe a gift 'an trifling thing' as a humble form, in spite of the true value of the gift.
Anyway, a small gift is always nice, isn't it? Let's do 'Osusowake'. ;)
