Southend-On-Sea

We went to Southend-on-sea, Essex on Sunday. It was beautiful clear sky. Southend-on-sea was originally the 'south end' of the village of Prittlewell. And it became a seaside resort. Unexpectedly, there are high buildings around the station.

 There is an amusement park.

At the moment of fear‼

Southend Pier is the world's longest pire at 1.34miles (2.16 km)! This looks like the sea, but actually it's the River Themes estuary! The land looks blurred over the river is Kent, England.

So, there is a train line on the pier!

We walked and walked, but it was still 1/2 mile.

I was thinking if these boards are really reliable? When was the last time this safeness was checked?
If I fell off into cold water... If you start to thinking such a stupid thing, you can't walk on a pier anymore... Hahaha.

Tada! At the end of the pier, there is a cafe. Sunshine was warm but air was cold.

We stepped on the river.

On a way back, we got a train. We were one of people who gave up walk. Have you seen the Japanese film 'Spirited Away'?  This train reminded me of the scene of a train through the ocean from the film.

After we came back to High Street, we had a tea break. In my opinion, this high street was not so attractive, because there are a few local shops.

These are lovely things I found at a shopping centre:)
