Rest Your Stomach !?
In Japan, we have a traditional dish on the morning of 7th January. It is called 'nanakusa-gayu', seven greens rice porridge, to bring longevity and health. Nanakusa means seven edible wild hearbs, and they are traditionally;
- Water dropwort
- Shepherd's Purse
- Cudweed
- Chickweed
- Nipplewort
- Turnip
- Radish

To be honest, our family haven't had this custom. Once we had nanakusa-gayu as for dinner, but I didn't like it very much because taste was too simple for kids. But, it must be a good opportunity to rest your stomach after the big feast of Christmas and new year's days.
