My Problem

My husband bought me a pair of flats for the season. It was lucky to find my size and a lovely and simple design. I'd looked for shoes for a while, because it's difficult to find an appropriate shoe size for me. My Japanese shoe size is 22.5, that means a British size 3. But even if it's size 3, it depends on design or shoe makers; most of them are a little bit too big for me.

I think the average Japanese shoe sizes are 23-24cm. Even in Japan, it was a bit difficult to find my size, because shoe makers often produce shoes from size 23cm. When I buy trainers, I always buy size 23cm, because I usually wear socks and there's no problem to tie shoelaces.

One of my friends is very tall and she said it's difficult to find her size because of her size. The size problem is opposite but she has the same problem. Another friend recommended to me with a serious look to go kids' selling space. A man around us who overheard the two of us talking was giggling... Well, as a last resort, I may go to kids' selling space, but I want to avoid it. Because can you imagine that among children, you seriously try on shoes? It's funny. I feel embarrassed...

I used to wear only heeled shoes because of my complex. I still love heeled shoes, but they are not suited to my life in the UK anymore. Although I sometime want to wear them. Anyway, I had never bought shoes in Japan if I didn't satisfy more than 90%, but now I need to compromise because of my size problem, I have little choice.
