Otoshidama

On New Year's Day, Japanese people have a custom of giving money to children. This is called 'otoshidama' which is handed out in a small envelope. Sometimes it is a stab in the wallet for an adult, but children are looking forward to get much pocket money:) I got a lovely sheep envelop, designed by the zodiac sign of next year. I am going to give some money to my nieces.
