Setsubun
3 February is Setsubun, the day before the beginning of spring in Japan according to the lunisolar calendar. It is considered to be the time when the spirit world becomes close to the physical world. So people open the doors of their houses, and throw beans and shout "Oni-wa-soto, Fuku-wa-uchi (Devils out! Fortune in!)" to drive away any bad spirits out of their houses that might get into your house. When I was young, I scattered beans and ate, but now I prefer to eat beans:) Why don't you drive away your own bad luck?
